As relations between Libya and The West begin to thaw, western tourists have begun to visit the country to see the unique and hugely impressive Roman ruins at places such as Sabratha and Leptis Magna, the rich exhibits at the museums in Tripoli and Leptis Magna ( complete with giant poster of Col Gadaffi ). Tourism could become a major revenue stream for Libya given the unique richness of the heritage sites there, with five Unseco world heritage sites.
